Léa contacted me with the objective to not just create a jewellery brand : but for it to become a base for changes in the world. From small to big : from a person’s thoughts & the materials used for the pieces, to supporting the positive ecological and ethical tendencies of the world and shedding light on new important topics.
SOLUTION
Nekala is a French handmade jewellery brand, who’s essence is to honour the wisdom of our cultures and to embody the energy of a new world.
Every collection is built around a message, praising the important aspects of our life. Each peace holds a message not only metaphorically, but the pieces arrive with a “letter from a stranger” in the box. With these simple yet meaningful letters we strive to bring the world a little closer.
LOGOTYPE
The logotype was created in close collaboration with Léa, who brought the symbol to life and was then graphically perfected by Mary Em. It is built basing on the two main ideas of the brand :
• The frame is inspired by the letter stamps, as Nekala is a carrier of a message.
• The inner symbol is about Nekala’s vision of balance. “The balance between polarities, between things, and between our worlds. Nekala is an ode to nature, to the life that surrounds us, to our cultural wealth, to our wisdom and to our stories. It is a tribute to what the world brings us in all its forms.”
